TERMS OF SERVICE

Last updated: July 21, 2026

OVERVIEW

This website is operated by Build Blueprint, LLC, doing business as Build Blueprint (“Build Blueprint,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We operate www.buildblueprints.com and provide digital architectural and construction plans, downloadable files, plan customization services, educational content, calculators, and related products and services (collectively, the “Services”). Our online store is hosted by Shopify.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Services. They incorporate our Privacy Policy at https://www.buildblueprints.com/policies/privacy-policy and any product-specific terms, license terms, or policies displayed on the Services.

Please read these Terms carefully. They contain important provisions concerning digital products, permitted use of plans, construction and permitting responsibilities, disclaimers of warranties, indemnification, and limitations of liability.

By accessing the Services, creating an account, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

SECTION 1 – ELIGIBILITY, ACCESS, AND ACCOUNTS

You must be at least the age of majority in your place of residence and legally able to enter into a binding contract to purchase from us.

If you use the Services on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and download links secure and for all activity under your account. You may not sell, transfer, assign, or license your account to another person.

SECTION 2 – OUR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

Our products primarily consist of digital plan sets and related files. Depending on the product description, a plan set may include floor plans, elevations, sections, foundation and roof plans, electrical layouts, construction details, schedules, materials information, PDF files, CAD files, or other materials.

The exact contents of an order are controlled by the applicable product description at the time of purchase.

Renderings, photographs, furnishings, finishes, landscaping, colors, and other visual elements shown on the Services may be illustrative only and may not be included in the plans or purchase. Screen and printer settings may also affect their appearance.

Dimensions, areas, materials, sheet counts, and other product information are provided in good faith, but minor errors, rounding differences, or revisions may occur. You must review the plan documents and product description before relying on them.

We may change or discontinue products, features, prices, or Services at any time. Any customization, conversion, consultation, or other additional service is governed by the written scope, price, schedule, and terms agreed upon for that service.

SECTION 3 – DIGITAL DELIVERY AND SHIPPING

Unless a product description expressly states otherwise, all products sold by Build Blueprint are digital products delivered electronically as instant PDF downloads. We do not sell or ship physical products.

After successful payment, download access is ordinarily provided through the order confirmation page, email, customer account, or another electronic delivery method. Most orders are delivered immediately. Delivery may occasionally be delayed by payment verification, incorrect contact information, third-party systems, or technical issues outside our reasonable control.

Because all products are delivered digitally:

No physical shipping is required.

No shipping fees are charged.

No tracking number will be provided.

No printed plans or physical materials will be mailed.

You are responsible for providing a valid email address, checking your spam or junk folder, downloading purchased files, keeping backup copies, and having compatible hardware and software.

If you do not receive your download link or cannot access your files, contact support@buildblueprint.com with your order number. We may take reasonable steps to verify an order before restoring access or resending files.

Purchasing a digital plan does not include printing, physical delivery, permit submission, engineering, professional stamping, or construction services unless expressly stated in the applicable product description.

SECTION 4 – ORDERS, PRICING, AND PAYMENT

Placing an order is an offer to purchase. We may accept, reject, limit, or cancel an order, including for suspected fraud, pricing or listing errors, unauthorized resale, or violation of these Terms.

An order is accepted when we confirm it or make the purchased files available.

Prices, discounts, and promotions may change without notice. You agree to pay the price and applicable taxes shown at checkout.

You represent that the payment information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to use the selected payment method. You authorize us and our payment processors to charge all amounts shown at checkout.

You may not initiate a chargeback for a validly delivered purchase merely because you failed to review the product description, no longer want the product, purchased the wrong plan, or did not confirm local requirements before buying. This provision does not limit any non-waivable rights available under applicable law.

SECTION 5 – CANCELLATIONS, RETURNS, EXCHANGES, AND REFUNDS

Because all products sold by Build Blueprint are digital downloads, the following return and refund terms apply.

You may request a refund within 30 days of purchase only if the digital product has not been downloaded or accessed.

Once a digital product has been downloaded or accessed, the purchase is final and is not eligible for return, refund, or exchange, except when there is a verified issue with the product.

If your download is defective, corrupted, incomplete, or materially different from the product you ordered, contact support@buildblueprint.com. Please include your order number and a description of the issue.

We will review the request and, when appropriate, provide corrected or replacement files. If we cannot resolve a verified product issue, we may issue a full or partial refund to the original payment method.

The following generally do not qualify as product issues:

Changing your mind after downloading the product.

Purchasing the wrong plan, size, format, or product.

Failing to review the product description or specifications before purchasing.

Incompatibility with software not identified as compatible on the product page.

Local permit, zoning, engineering, building-code, or professional-stamping requirements.

Construction costs, material availability, or site-specific conditions.

Modifications requested after purchase.

Digital products cannot be physically returned. Do not mail printed plans, storage devices, or other materials to us. No return shipping label or return address is required.

We do not offer exchanges for downloaded digital products. If you purchased the wrong product and have not downloaded or accessed it, contact us within 30 days of purchase. Any replacement, refund, or account credit is subject to our review and approval.

Downloaded sale items are final sale unless there is a verified issue with the product. Gift cards are non-refundable except where required by law.

Custom services, completed customization work, and fees already incurred are non-refundable unless a written service agreement states otherwise or applicable law requires a refund.

If a refund is approved, it will be issued to your original payment method. Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to appear after approval. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.

If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your refund, contact support@buildblueprint.com.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase. However, this right may end once delivery of the digital content begins if you expressly consented to immediate delivery and acknowledged that beginning the download would cause you to lose your right of withdrawal.

Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.

SECTION 6 – LICENSE TO USE PURCHASED PLANS

Purchase of a plan does not transfer copyright or ownership.

Subject to payment in full and compliance with these Terms, we grant the original purchaser a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to:

Download, store, and print reasonable copies of the purchased files for the purchaser’s project.

Use the plans to construct one structure for the purchaser, unless the product description or a separate written license expressly permits additional builds.

Share necessary copies with the purchaser’s contractor, architect, engineer, interior designer, estimator, lender, building official, or other project professional solely for that project.

The purchaser is responsible for ensuring that every recipient understands that the plans are copyrighted and may be used only for the authorized project. Contractors and professionals do not receive an independent license and may not retain or reuse the plans for other clients or projects.

Without our prior written permission, you may not:

Resell, redistribute, publish, upload, sublicense, donate, rent, lend, or give away the plans or download link.

Use the plans to construct more than one structure.

Use the plans for tract, production, speculative, or multi-project construction.

Remove copyright or proprietary notices.

Claim the plans as your original work.

Use the files, images, or plan content to train, test, or develop an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system.

If you want to build the design more than once, transfer the project to another owner, or use it commercially beyond constructing the authorized project, contact us to purchase an additional license.

Unauthorized use may constitute copyright infringement and breach of contract.

SECTION 7 – MODIFICATIONS AND CAD FILES

If editable CAD files are included in or separately purchased with an order, you may allow a qualified professional to modify those files solely for the authorized project.

Modifying a plan does not transfer ownership of the original design or expand the license. Build Blueprint retains its rights in the original and pre-existing materials. Rights in independently created modifications are governed by applicable law and your agreement with the professional who creates them.

Build Blueprint is not responsible for changes made by you or any third party. Any Build Blueprint warranty or representation does not apply to altered portions of a plan.

The professional making or approving modifications is responsible for the modified design and its coordination, code compliance, structural performance, and fitness for the project.

SECTION 8 – LOCAL CODES, PERMITS, AND PROFESSIONAL REVIEW

Building codes, zoning rules, energy codes, fire requirements, accessibility standards, subdivision restrictions, climate criteria, and permit procedures vary by location and change over time.

References to a model code, state, region, “permit ready,” or similar language mean that a plan was prepared with the identified standards or common requirements in mind. They do not guarantee approval by any authority having jurisdiction.

Plans are not site-specific unless a written agreement expressly states otherwise. Before construction, you must have the plans reviewed and, where required, adapted, signed, sealed, or stamped by appropriately licensed local professionals.

Your local building department determines what documents, calculations, surveys, reports, and professional seals are required. Additional items may include site plans, grading and drainage plans, energy calculations, structural calculations, truss engineering, septic or utility design, geotechnical reports, floodplain information, wildfire requirements, or other jurisdiction-specific documents.

Unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement, Build Blueprint does not obtain permits, provide a professional seal, or act as your architect or engineer of record.

No website content, plan purchase, customer-support message, calculator result, or general guidance creates an architect-client, engineer-client, contractor-client, fiduciary, or other professional relationship.

You are solely responsible for confirming the plan’s suitability before purchase and construction and for obtaining all approvals, permits, licenses, inspections, and professional services required for your project.

SECTION 9 – SITE CONDITIONS, STRUCTURAL DESIGN, AND CONSTRUCTION RESPONSIBILITY

Soil, frost depth, groundwater, topography, wind, snow, seismic, flood, wildfire, coastal exposure, termite conditions, utilities, easements, access, and other site conditions can materially affect a project.

Unless expressly identified as project-specific in writing, the plans do not account for your specific property or all local loads and conditions.

Foundations, structural members, connections, retaining conditions, mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical work, and other components must be verified and, where appropriate, designed by qualified local professionals.

Prefabricated components such as roof trusses and engineered wood products may require separate manufacturer or supplier engineering.

You, your contractor, and your licensed professionals are responsible for field verification, dimensions, quantities, constructability, temporary bracing, sequencing, means and methods, job-site safety, code compliance, and coordination among all trades and documents.

Do not scale drawings where a written dimension is provided. Any discrepancy, omission, or uncertainty must be resolved before ordering materials or beginning the affected work.

SECTION 10 – ESTIMATES, MATERIAL LISTS, AND CALCULATORS

Square footage, cost estimates, materials lists, quantities, calculators, and other planning tools are informational estimates only.

They are not bids, guarantees, engineering calculations, or substitutes for takeoffs and pricing prepared for your project.

Actual requirements and costs vary based on location, market conditions, waste, labor, taxes, site access, design changes, code requirements, construction methods, and contractor practices.

You must independently verify all dimensions, quantities, costs, and assumptions before purchasing materials, entering contracts, financing a project, or beginning construction.

Build Blueprint is not responsible for shortages, overages, price differences, or decisions based on estimates or calculator outputs.

SECTION 11 – INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY IN THE SERVICES

The Services and their contents, including plans, drawings, designs, CAD files, text, graphics, logos, images, renderings, videos, software, selection, and arrangement, are owned by or licensed to Build Blueprint and protected by United States and international intellectual-property laws.

Except for the limited plan license in Section 6 or other express written permission, you may use the Services only for personal, lawful, non-commercial browsing and shopping.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, publish, scrape, extract, sell, exploit, or create derivative works from the Services.

All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

SECTION 12 – THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND LINKS

The Services may use or link to third-party platforms, payment processors, software, websites, or tools.

We provide access to them “as is” and do not control or endorse their content, availability, security, or practices.

Your use of a third-party service is governed by that party’s terms and privacy policy, and you assume the risks associated with using it.

SECTION 13 – RELATIONSHIP WITH SHOPIFY

Shopify provides the ecommerce platform that enables us to offer the Services.

Purchases from our store are transactions directly between you and Build Blueprint, not Shopify.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shopify is not responsible for products, services, transactions, injuries, damages, or losses arising from your dealings with Build Blueprint.

SECTION 14 – PRIVACY

Our collection and use of personal information are governed by our Privacy Policy at https://www.buildblueprints.com/policies/privacy-policy.

Shopify may also process information as described in its own privacy notices. By using the Services, you acknowledge these practices.

SECTION 15 – FEEDBACK AND REVIEWS

If you submit reviews, photographs, suggestions, feedback, or other content (“Feedback”), you grant Build Blueprint a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, distribute, and display the Feedback for operating, improving, and promoting the Services.

You represent that you have the necessary rights, that the Feedback is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that it does not violate the law or another person’s rights.

We are not required to keep Feedback confidential, pay for it, publish it, or respond to it. We may moderate or remove Feedback at our discretion, subject to applicable law.

SECTION 16 – ERRORS AND CORRECTIONS

The Services may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions concerning plans, dimensions, descriptions, pricing, promotions, availability, or other information.

We may correct or update information and may cancel affected orders. If we cancel an order after payment and do not provide the purchased product, we will refund the amount paid for that order.

SECTION 17 – PROHIBITED USES

You may not use the Services to violate the law or another person’s rights; transmit malware or harmful code; engage in fraud, harassment, impersonation, spam, phishing, or misleading conduct; interfere with the security or operation of the Services; bypass access controls; collect personal information without authorization; or copy, scrape, extract, index, or exploit the Services through automated means in violation of these Terms or our instructions.

You may not use bots, agents, scrapers, or automated systems to access the Services where prohibited by our robots.txt, technical controls, or written instructions.

We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or threatens the Services, Build Blueprint, Shopify, or others.

SECTION 18 – TERMINATION

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you violate these Terms, misuse the plans, engage in suspected fraud, or threaten the security or rights of others.

Termination does not relieve you of amounts owed or liability for prior conduct. Upon termination for breach, your license to use purchased plans may terminate, and you must stop unauthorized use and distribution.

Sections that by their nature should survive, including ownership, license restrictions, construction responsibility, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, governing law, and dispute provisions, will survive termination.

SECTION 19 – DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES AND PRODUCTS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.”

EXCEPT FOR ANY EXPRESS WRITTEN WARRANTY PROVIDED BY BUILD BLUEPRINT, WE DISCLAIM ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, CODE COMPLIANCE, PERMIT APPROVAL, CONSTRUCTABILITY, AND RESULTS.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT A PLAN WILL BE SUITABLE FOR YOUR PROPERTY, BUDGET, INTENDED USE, JURISDICTION, SOIL, CLIMATE, LOADS, OR CONSTRUCTION METHOD; THAT A GOVERNMENT AUTHORITY, LENDER, HOMEOWNERS’ ASSOCIATION, CONTRACTOR, ARCHITECT, OR ENGINEER WILL ACCEPT OR APPROVE IT; OR THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some exclusions may not apply to you.

SECTION 20 – LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUILD BLUEPRINT AND ITS OWNERS, AFFILIATES, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, CONTRACTORS, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES; PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE; LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, USE, OR SAVINGS; COSTS OF DELAY, REDESIGN, REWORK, MATERIALS, LABOR, PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, PERMITS, OR REPLACEMENT; OR CLAIMS ARISING FROM CONSTRUCTION, SITE CONDITIONS, PLAN MODIFICATIONS, CODE OR PERMIT REQUIREMENTS, OR RELIANCE ON ESTIMATES OR INFORMATION, WHETHER THE CLAIM SOUNDS IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUILD BLUEPRINT’S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO A PRODUCT, ORDER, OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO BUILD BLUEPRINT FOR THE PRODUCT OR SERVICE GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

SECTION 21 – INDEMNIFICATION

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Build Blueprint, Shopify, and their respective affiliates, owners, officers, employees, agents, contractors, licensors, and service providers from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, costs, and reasonable attorneys’ fees arising out of or relating to:

Your breach of these Terms.

Your unlawful or unauthorized use, reproduction, sharing, or construction from the plans.

Modifications made by you or others.

Your project, property, construction activities, contractors, or professionals.

Your violation of the law or another person’s rights.

We may control the defense and settlement of an indemnified claim. You will reasonably cooperate, and we will not settle a claim that imposes a non-monetary obligation on you without your consent, which will not be unreasonably withheld.

SECTION 22 – GOVERNING LAW AND VENUE

These Terms and any dispute arising from them or the Services are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Subject to any non-waivable consumer rights, the state and federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois will have exclusive jurisdiction, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.

SECTION 23 – SEVERABILITY, WAIVER, ENTIRE AGREEMENT, AND ASSIGNMENT

If a provision is held unlawful or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and severed only to the extent necessary. The remaining provisions will remain effective.

Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

These Terms, together with incorporated policies and product-specific or written service terms, are the entire agreement concerning the Services and supersede prior or contemporaneous communications on that subject.

If product-specific written terms conflict with these Terms, the more specific terms control for that product or service.

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your license without our prior written consent.

We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, reorganization, or operation of the business.

SECTION 24 – CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on the Services and changing the “Last updated” date.

Changes apply prospectively from their effective date unless applicable law permits otherwise. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice.

Your continued use of the Services after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
